These past couple of weeks have been busy with traveling....again! This time it was to Colorado Springs for my good friends' wedding and to see my godchildren and their awesome parents!
My friends got married at the Air Force Academy and I have to say, it was one of the most beautiful weddings I've ever been to! The campus itself was enough to take my breath away. Then add a beautiful bride and handsome groom...it was perfect! Quite a few of my Abilene friends came too and it's always good to see any of them.
As much fun as I had dancing and tasting all the yummy food (Red Velvet wedding cake!), I can't say that I loved flying on a plane 6.5 months pregnant! Those plane chairs are just not made for pregos! And I was definitely disheartened by the lack of people (including the flight attendants) willing to help me lift my carry on suitcase into the overhead bins. Even after asking, some people looked at me like I was crazy! Only one person offered to ever help me, bless his heart!!! I ended up just checking my bag on the flights home to avoid the awkwardness of asking. I thought it was pretty sad!
It was so great to see my friends and godchildren. I hadn't seen Jack since Christmas 2010 and hadn't had the chance to meet baby Emmalynn at all! She was beautiful and I loved having Jack as my shadow for the long weekend. They are such wonderful kids. A true testament to the great parents they have! I hope Josh and I are half the parents they are someday very soon!
After all this, it felt so great to arrive home and be with my husband again. It seems as though I had been traveling a lot lately and we were both ready for it to stop and relax together a bit before we start the move home and begin preparing for our daughter's arrival. Our time together as a twosome is dwindling down very quickly and we are trying our best to make the most of it!
