10 Months

Ten months of life with this beautiful little girl!

The biggest thing to happen this month has been her milestones in standing and heading towards walking. She is doing a really good job of standing up by herself and keeping her balance. Enough so that she can stand and squat, or eat food, or even dance a little bit. She dances a lot too. Every time she hears music or hears someone clapping/singing. This girl LOVES music. Music is a big part of my husband and I's relationship, so we couldn't be happier that Elise enjoys it also. I can't wait to use the beginner books I  had to teach her how to play the piano. The same piano I learned to play on. It's a tradition I've been looking forward to carrying out since I married my husband. She is also drinking breast milk COLD and out of a sippy with a straw! I feel like we are heading in a positive direction with nursing/weaning someday. She's definitely becoming more independent during the days! (nights are another story....lol)

Another big event for this month was Halloween. Elise dressed up as Princess Leia. Mostly because her mom is a big Star Wars nerd and the costume was just too cute to pass up! She dressed up for school in her costume and they had a parade in the morning (I didn't go because she would've been confused and upset if she saw me and left without her). They also had a "party" in the afternoon. It was really nice sitting with friends and family in her class telling funny baby stories.

That night, Elise chose NOT to take a nap after school so we ended up not staying very long at the church's Fall Festival. We just made our rounds and took pictures then we headed home for bath and bedtime. All in all, it was a successful Halloween. I watched a scary movie by myself after saying goodbye to my sisters, and had a couple pieces of candy before going to bed.

I only cried a little when I realized her first Halloween was over and my husband couldn't be here to see it.

I got over it quickly, and reminded myself that she still hasn't actually gone trick or treating. Next year, she will. On her daddy's shoulders with myself and Macy next to them. The holidays this year will definitely be leaving something to be desired. I just know that next year will kick ass though!
