May 2014

I'm in denial that this year is already half way over.... I still remember New Year's Eve like it was yesterday. So crazy!

May was a busy month! For Josh at work, for Elise and I at home, and just for our life in general. It always seems to be busy! We kicked off this month in Oklahoma visiting family. Came home to celebrate our anniversary and mothers day!

The rest of the time was spent seriously just getting by with our crazy schedules. Elise's school ended which left me with a lot less time to do things I normally did by myself, and we have the daunting task of preparing to live away from home for 5 weeks at the end of June.

We had to say goodbye to Josh again this month, which was harder than any of us expected considering we will only be apart 22 days. Logically our brains both knew this, but our hearts still ached when we kissed goodbye. Elise hasn't been sleeping well without her daddy being a part of her nighttime routine and I've had to hire sitters just to do things like to go the doctor. Luckily, we had really great sitters. When our new sitter isn't available, Elise's MDO teacher has offered to help sometimes too. Huge help since Elise loves her.

Getting home from Oklahoma meant one awesome thing for me...getting back in the crossfit game! So far I've only missed one class (I wasn't allowed to go after puking all night!), and I still really enjoying everything. I'm still really light on weights, and not quick at all, but I feel like I'm doing movements correctly and working hard to commit them to muscle memory so I can start pushing myself. Safety first!

Though I am enjoying seeing progress being made and feeling stronger. My thighs feel like rocks! They haven't felt this strong since my days of tumbling and being on the bottom of that cheer pyramid. Yes, I was a cheerleader!

Elise and I are starting to run on my days off from the gym and I enjoy it more than she does, but hey, we are doing it!

May went by in a flash and we are excited to get to June and July. Lots of time together and little weekend trips. We are long overdue for some time on the beach together.
