I am working as a Content Mastery Instructor for Travis Elementary. Only for a little while longer though because Hubs graduates THIS FRIDAY from Pilot Training! It's been a long road, but I wouldn't say hard (for me lol) I was bored a lot and alone a lot, but it wasn't that hard. Hubs has worked his ass off though and I couldn't be more proud of him! Not many people grow up to do what they wanted to do since they were 2! He deserves everything he has, truly. After graduation, we are hanging out here until May 12, when we will move to Little Rock for additional training. November 8, we will move to our first permanent station (for 3 years) of Dyess AFB in Abilene, TX. He is going to fly C130 slicks (cargo plane).
I have already started the process of getting certified for a Texas teaching position. Its a grueling review process, and I'm hoping they don't make me re-take any tests. Right now, no positions are available in Abilene, but probably will be towards May.
BUT I may not get to start this fall :( Since our next training goes well into the next school year, I can choose to either stay with my husband in Little Rock, or be alone for 6 mos in Abilene and maybe get a job. As badly as I want to teach, I decided a long time ago to never volunteer to be separated. We are going to be separated enough in our marriage in the next ten years without our say so, and I don't want to add to that at all.
The good news is is that both of these places are a little closer to home. We plan on starting our family around 2012, so this town of Abilene is going to be the birthplace of our first child. Which is just crazy to think about! We are soo excited about this new chapter of our life and can't wait to see what the Air Force and life in Abilene has in store for us!!
