22 weeks

This was me at 22 weeks with Elise...I feel like I'm in trouble! I'm much bigger already!

This has been the best week by far this pregnancy! Not only did we have an anatomy scan and meeting with the high risk doctor that went really well, but my husband is FINALLY home!

As for the anatomy scan, we were able to see Lena's heart (all four chambers), kidneys, bladder, spine, and brain! Her heartbeat was strong and doc said she was healthy as can be! Even better? The doc also said he saw no reason to expect for me to have another early labor scare!

Getting to see all her tiny fingers and hands just makes this dream all the more real for us! She's already got us wrapped around those little fingers!

Shortly after the anatomy scan, our house had quite the homecoming event!

It's becoming a tradition for me to make a special cake when my husband returns from a deployment! It's a labor of love for sure!

It's been a long 3 months without him. I never thought I would ever be pregnant and taking care of a toddler solo, but I did. We made it through! And I hope this is the last solo parental adventure I have for awhile!

Right now we are just enjoying spending time together and catching up. Elise has responded very well to his coming home. She hasn't hardly left his side in 4 days. I haven't been able to stop smiling and none of us have laughed so much in the last three months as we have the last three days. It's amazing how our daily routine hasn't changed much but adding just one specific person makes such a big difference for us. Every day that used to feel slow and mundane is now fun and full of love. We wouldn't trade it for anything.
