28 & 29 weeks

These last two weeks we had a couple of little celebrations for our family. First one was reaching the third trimester! Second one was my 29th birthday! We also squeezed in some maternity pics and I'll post those when they become available to us!

This years birthday was pretty great. We celebrated all out the Saturday before since my husband would have to work and go to bed early the day of my actual birthday.

We started the day off by going to brunch at my favorite place, Abi Haus. They have the best pancakes and my husband can't resist their chicken and waffles. Even Elise ate an entire pancake all by herself! We stuffed ourselves so much that we didn't eat another meal until dinner. My husband got us reservations at the best place West Texas has to offer, Perini's. They are known for fancy and delicious steaks. But we cannot resist their cheap burgers! We all ate plenty of them too, even Elise! She must've eaten half of my 1/2lb burger! My husband and I took home some decadent chocolate sheet cake to eat at home later when we wouldn't have to share :) After Elise went to bed, we ate our cake together and watched a movie in bed that we've waited over 5 months to watch, Interstellar. We are definitely movie buffs and big fans of Christopher Nolan! It did NOT disappoint!

When my birthday arrived, my husband had managed to get off work to come to his first ultrasound and doctors appt with me. It was the best. The tech really took her time this time and let us have some quality time with little Lena. Lena even gave us a great look at her sweet face for a split second. My husband and I both gasped simultaneously as we realized how much she already looks like her sister. It may have brought a few tears!

We got some great pics and we were able to see that she weighs about 3lbs and about 15 inches long! She's getting really close to her birth weight. The end is nearing!

That evening, my husband prepared me an amazing birthday dinner. Grilled chicken stuffed with cheese and red peppers, served alongside lemon basil couscous. It was UH mazing! Then I had the pleasure of blowing out candles on homemade cupcakes with one daughter on my lap, and another growing in my belly. Listening to my husband serenade me. I'm not gonna lie, I teared up a bit!

I'm about to finish up my 20s and say hello to my 30s and I truly couldn't be more excited. The 20s have brought a LOT of big life changes: graduating college, getting married, moving away from home, and having two babies. But my husband and I feel the best is still yet to come. We can't wait to see what memories our 30s decade will hold.

Sappy moment coming, bare with me.

I have to brag on my husband. With the issues this pregnancy has brought, I haven't been able to do everything I normally do. I have pretty unpredictable spotting and I get tired, sick or sore very easily. My amazing husband has picked up my slack in ways I never thought he would. Not only is he cooking so I don't have to. He is meal planning, testing new recipes, grocery shopping, and doing big spring cleaning chores to try to make life easier for me when he inevitably has to leave again next month. He wants my only worry or concern to be keeping this baby in until she's full term. It's working. My anxieties have decreased exponentially. I'm not sure what I did in life to deserve such an amazing partner, but I am damn glad every day that I snagged him somehow!
