Decoration Inspiration

So the time for us to close on our first home and move in is quickly approaching! I have been thinking a lot about decor and how we want our first home to feel. Most of our furniture is neutral. So living in rentals that don't allow us to paint has always made our places seem cold and unfriendly. The paint on our house now is a neutral light color. I would prefer to warm it up a bit!

Our inspiration piece

My mom advised us to find one something that included everything we could want in our house for color. That way, we could branch off in each room but they would still flow together nicely and we could easily move things around from room to room. The photo above is what we chose for our inspiration piece! It has several shades of neutral to include our furniture and carpet, while still including the warmer shades I wanted to use to make everything seem cozy and welcoming. PLUS most of the stuff we already have has a lot of blue, green, and brown to it. This way I don't have to waste anything that we already have in order to create a totally new place for us to call home!

I gotta say, we are really excited to get started! We even plan to do some research on landscaping and what flowers would be appropriate to plant for the winter months ahead.

We also recently had some family photos taken. We are planning on blowing up our favorite b&w, framing it, and hanging it over our fireplace!
