Week 18

We are getting very close to the halfway point in my pregnancy! Which seems weird mostly because I still don't feel like I LOOK very pregnant! I've gained a total of 7lbs so far. It doesn't seem like much, but try telling my back that! At first I was getting concerned that I wasn't getting bigger or putting on more weight. But my OB has assured me that baby is healthy (moves like crazy!), and so am I. I just have a smaller frame and more core muscles (YEAH!) for the belly to pop out of.

Speaking of working out. I've finally been able to get into a regular routine again. I had permission to continue doing what I was doing during my first trimester, but after two miscarriages, I wasn't taking any chances. Plus I was sick LITERALLY 6 hours every day for about 2.5 months. So my doctor here recommended I start up again very slowly at 14 weeks. I had NO idea how difficult it would be!

I've been working out regularly before this pregnancy and never found it too difficult to complete a workout or start a new one. Apparently it's a totally different story when you're pregnant! I had bought this new pregnancy workout book with routines specifically designed for each trimester and then a workout to continue post baby. I thumbed through the second trimester workout thinking "how in the world is this stuff supposed to keep me in shape after what I'm used to?". But I gave it a shot anyway....and ended up stopping halfway through!

All the extra blood flowing through my system makes me very dizzy. So anytime I would get up from push ups, or stand up from lunges, I would have to take a minute and and let it pass. I get winded so easily and trying to make sure my HR doesn't get too high! (need to invest in a HR monitor soon!) So between all that, it makes it difficult to get back on the horse! Plus, I get sore and stay sore MUCH worse and longer than I ever did before! I feel like I traded bodies with someone who's never done this before!

Though I'm proud to say, I've finally been able to finish a workout! More than once! Its been nice having a challenge physically again and knowing that I'm making positive changes for me and our baby!

GENDER announcement coming in the next post! We couldn't be MORE excited!!! :)

    1. Yes! A permanent one would be nice! This was taken earlier in the day. Usually after eating all my meals of the day, it's much more prominent! But hardly there in the mornings lol so odd!
