22 Weeks

22 weeks and we keep truckin' along! SO grateful this month is halfway over! We are only 5 weeks away from going back to our home in Texas.

We never thought we'd be so homesick for West Texas! We knew even before we moved there the first time that we'd be coming back here to Little Rock for more training and we were honestly counting down the days to have a break from our norm in Abilene. We felt like we had done everything there is to do there in a year and a half and were ready to be in a big city again.

Then I found out I was pregnant two weeks before our move!

I'm not sure if that's what has changed our mindset, but we have been aching to be in our house ever since. It's not easy feeling displaced here with almost none of our furniture half the space we're used to, and a lack of familiar faces. We do have a couple here, thank goodness!

Honestly, I think we've both just grown very attached to the place we've called home for the last two years. We bought our first house and our first child will be brought home there. She will say her first words and take her first steps there. I know we are military and our days in that house and that town are already numbered....always have been. We just have always looked forward to the day we could "settle" somewhere, make wonderful friends, and feel at home. Now we have all of those things and the thought of leaving kind of breaks my heart a little.

 

 

Thankfully, we still have two (ish) years left in our lovely little home. We are looking forward to another holiday in our house together! Last holiday just us two!



We've already created some incredible memories in Abilene that we will always cherish. We are so looking forward to a couple years more to make the most of our time in Texas.
