Okla-HOME-a

This last week we decided to take Elise on her first road trip and visit the home state! We were definitely nervous about driving all those hours with a 6 week old, but it actually went really well. She slept pretty much the entire time we were in the car. We stopped every two hours or so to change and feed her then she went right back to sleep.

Our first stop on our trip was OKC to visit my in laws and Grandma Blue (one of Elise's namesakes and birthday buddy!) and Grandpa Gene. It was awesome to see Grandma Blue love on Elise. We had four generations of my husband's side of the family in one room. I thought this was pretty special, not something every family can do, including my own.

Next leg of our trip was to my old stomping grounds in Sand Springs. My parents arranged for my entire extended family to come over and meet Elise for the first time. This was a very big deal to me because our family is so close and its been really hard for me to not be able to share Elise with them until now.

The next morning we got to go to lunch with Josh's paternal grandmother and then that evening we got a very special surprise visit from our god children!

The last day we had some serious snow to drive home in! Luckily we were able to make one last stop in OKC so Elise could meet her only McVay aunt!

All in all it was a wonderful trip and I'm so glad we got to go. Too bad its just made us more homesick for Oklahoma and our families there!
