2 Months

Yes, I know this post is a couple weeks late! This two month old has me very busy! When I'm not feeding her (which has become MUCH more frequently now), playing with her, or getting her to fall asleep, I'm either trying to get a workout in, make something for myself to eat, or get some housework done! I went from not doing a whole lot to not having enough hours in my day! Thank goodness for my amazing husband and parent partner who will tag team with me to get all our normal day-to-day stuff taken care of. Despite all of that....

Can I just say how much I love this little beautiful girl?!

It's incredible how this little thing can make my day with just one little smile or giggle. Which is something she does so much now! Hearing and making her laugh and smile is just incredible. She is so observant of everything we do. She constantly has eyes on us and when we realize it and look back at her, she gives this huge smile and sometimes a giggle. It's just the best feeling in the world.

Two months is when Elise slept through her first full 8 hr night! Besides the fact that I woke up to painfully engorged boobs, it was wonderful! She doesn't always sleep all the way through like that, but she's done it enough times for me to feel incredibly grateful for it!

Two months is also when we started implementing a bedtime routine, which has really helped her learn when its time to go to sleep. We change her, bathe her, put her pjs on and comb her hair (which she LOVES!), then I swaddle her and let her daddy read her a story before I nurse her. Sometimes she's easy to put to sleep, other times we have to listen to her throw a fit about it. We still have a lot to learn from each other!

Two months is when Elise decided she wanted to practice standing up...a LOT! She will get grumpy if you don't allow her to try! She also really enjoys sitting up and looking around. She is constantly moving and I have a feeling that when she does become mobile, Josh and I are in trouble! I feel like we should already start babyproofing the house just in case it happens when we least expect it!

Elise loves when you make your mouth into weird looks and make funny noises with it. That's the fastest way to get a laugh from her. Sometimes her laughs and smiles make noises that sound like she's really wanting to say something to you.

She's already into her 3 mo outfits and size 1 diapers....She's not a newborn anymore, she's an adorable pudgy baby! We love every minute we get to spend with her and feel so grateful she's here after everything we've been through. She's definitely our little miracle! We love you Elise!
